When your significant other told you they were going to CRNA school, you may or may not have wondered.... how much time will they have with me???
Let me break it down for you: The Quality Time you will get to see your spouse during school is going to be very very minimal!
I thought we had been through a lot together in the past. At one point several years ago, we were building our first home, both working full-time, one of us also in school full-time online, ALL WITH A 1 YEAR OLD infant AND ANOTHER BABY on the way!!! (I think I still have PTSD.....)
NO COMPARISON to nurse anesthesia school.....trust me on this one.
Now, "quality" time time together (meaning you are the only thing on their mind and not the trillion things they have to do for school...) be prepared for them to pass out!
Hence, this is what my wife is like during any "family time" or "hubby time"......

They will be so exhausted that they physically or mentally will not be able to function, so they just simply pass out.
Often, my wife will schedule “Hubby time" at the end of the evening if she gets EVERYTHING else done. This often leads to us starting to watch one of our shows (currently House of Cards or Breaking Bad). Often, it takes 5 days to watch one episode!!
Just as a head's up....if your SRNA has some "free time" available, he or she will either be:
This lack of Quality time often makes my wife upset because she feels like she is a "horrible wife to me" and cannot be the wife that she wants to be…

Just as a head's up....if your SRNA has some "free time" available, he or she will either be:
- Trying to catch up on everything that has been neglected (then again, find themselves not having time for everything)
- Do absolutely nothing because THEY PHYSICALLY and MENTALLY CAN'T

As A Spouse...What do I do?
I try to do everything that I physically can do to help lighten her load. Of course, there are just some things that I cannot do just because they are school related.
I do my best to:
The idea is to give them as much time as they can to get all of their studies done , and hopefully they will get a moment to spend some time with you, smile, and relax!
I do my best to:
- Do all the house chores
- Get all the Groceries
- Feed, walk, and take out the dog
- Pay all the Bills
- Cook for a family of 4 (we all eat different meals)
- Get our Kids to School
- Get them off the Bus
- Bring them to Soccer, Basketball, Gymnastics, Piano Lessons...etc.
- Get up with them in the Middle of the night when they are sick

What NOT to do.... (Danger, danger!!)
It is advisable that you don't:
(Trust me they feel Horrible enough as it is!)

One more thing, think of how much you are missing them because they are missing you all that much more.
